gsr crank pulley
I am doing a timing belt and water pump job on my teg and was am stuck on the crank pulley. I got the bolt off already but how do you remove the crank pulley itself I tryed to slide it off like the guide on team-integra says but it wont budge. Is there a special tool to remove the crank pulley or harmonic balancer

Re: gsr crank pulley
It ought to just slide right off. Somebody may have put the pulley on when it was wet, and it's rusted to the crankshaft.
First thing to try: Get a brass or copper bar and a hammer. Place one end of the bar against the pulley face where the crank bolt washer would normally sit, and strike the other end with the hammer. Do this once at each quadrant of the circle. This should break the rust, which will be brittle.
Do NOT hit the pulley's edge!

Re: gsr crank pulley
spray it with pb blaster or some liquid spray down by the crank bolt and behind it. then get a small pry bar and pry gently behind it rocking it back and forth. it will come off in most cases, just takes a few minutes of rocking. i do mean gently...you can crack the pulley if you pry too hard
worst case get a harbor freight gear puller and pull it off that way.
