Funny Story
Maybe not all that funny, but still...
I had to add some oil into the all comsuming Integra yesterday morning. Filled it up a quart, then put the oil cap back on. Do some daily errands, go to work, get out of work and drive home. All toled about 65 miles. About 10-15 minutes after adding said oil into the car, I smell oil/burning oil. I don't see any smoke anywhere and I already knew that my car burned a bit. I checked under the car, by the pan to see if I was leaking, and not a drop was on the ground. Later that night, I still smelled it, only it was stronger now. I popped the hood, and low and behold, I had a geyser. The oil cap split right in half. The bottom part was still on the valve cover and the top was no where to be found. Oil was covering the engine and I had about 2quarts in the motor left. Man, was I pissed. Never heard of oil cap failure.
