Default Failed smog - BAD

Its a 95 gsr block, .25 over 11.3:1 spoon sport pistions, fully balanced / blueprinted. OEM ITR head, ITR IM, full MSD ignition, AEM CAI.

EDIT: and a skunk2 gsr ecu

Timing is at exactly 16deg and plugs/oil/filter/all that nonsense have been changed less than 1k miles ago.

Basically, i failed with flying colors, exceeded gross polluter in every test.

I was wondering, could i just take fuel down like 30/40% from idle - like 4k right before they test using my v-afc...or how else am i gonna fix this.

Even with all that, if you have a functional cat, and aren't running pig rich, you should be fine. Whats your a/f? Are you sure the cat is ok, or do you have a test pipe? Has it been tuned for proper air/fuel with the replacement ecu?

HC should be fine if you aren't really rich and have a cat. CO, is not something I can comment on, I've never had a car even approach 1/3 of max, and one of my cars was running 9:1 a/f (more or less, stupid carburetor) with a hollowed cat and a missing egr. NO is high if combustion temps are too high, might be a result from the compression.

Get the car good and hot before they test it. Do some freeway driving in 4th, get the exhause really hot, and keep it idling in the parking lot before they test it.

Lastly, go buy a bottle of "Guaranteed to Pass" and follow the directions on the back.

If all else fails, buy off a mechanic.

Yeah its a blast to drive, the CM Stage 3 and ground controls def keep me amused. So wait...NO is from too hot? I'm lost...i thought that too much everything could be caused simply from running too rich.

And i've recently been informed that its a "high flow cat" but iono if i believe it... i'm pretty sure that we put the stock exhaust back on it...but then again, i was the wiring / tuning guy... i never paid a damn bit of attention with exhausts

very rarely will I see a car with a high flow cat on it pass a CA smog test at my shop. So if you have a high flow cat "I would find out" then that could be a major part of the problem. Can you post your exact readings that could help figure out the problem.
