Erratic Starting = bad starter?
Well, one of the reasons I have been car shopping is that my car has started to give me problems.
Besides the stumble on shutdown due to the FITV problem, the car sometime starts and sometimes
does not.
I have had the battery, alternator and starter tested at an Auto Zone and they said
everything is good.
The symptoms are - clutch in, turn the key and click, turn key click, turn key, engine starts.
Sometimes it starts a bit hard but most of the time it just starts right up. There does not seem to be
too much correlation to how long it has been sitting or how warm the car is.
The Autozone guy said it sounds like it is just a bad connection to the starter.
What do you guys think?

I had the same symptoms here. Autozone checked and said the starter was fine but the problem didnt go away. I had the starter rebuilt for 80 bux and that was a year ago. I havent had a problem starting the car since.

I had the same problem a little over a year ago. Try taking it to some place that rebuilds or fixes starters and alternators. They just changed my brushes for $45 and it has been fine ever since. good luck.
