Engine Temp drop when I hit the freeway. Help Please
Hi,
As what the title said. My engine temp( engine temp gauge) drop all the way down to cold when I hit the freeway. I don't think my temp gauge is malfunctioning. Its goes up normal one city, but only when I hit the freeway it drop. Please give me some advice on why this happen. Thanks for you help

that sounds really odd. could this possibly have something to do with the cooling fan switches? I only know enough about electrical to shock myself, but I know the fans turn off when your temp drops [due to you moving faster].

fault thermostat problem, cheap and should be replaced? radiator cap is losing it ability to control the pressure, your gauge wires connected properly?
there is no way that gauge temp can be drop that low unless your stuffs got problems
freeway usualy have a little lower in temp because of air cooling the radiator constantly unlike street stop and go, stop and go ...hardly get some fast air to cool radiator more often...but doesn't matter freeway or not, or how cold the air outside is...gauge temp CAN'T NOT BE DROP ALL THE WAY DOWN....
emergency, you should check as soon as possible...to prevent overheating and bbq ur shesh..

just out of curiosity, how can it be the thermostat? if it is stuck closed, obviously he would be overheating. if it is stuck open, it just takes longer to warm up in the morning. I could be wrong, but I just can't see it. sounds more like a sensor thing to me.

mine does the same thing. I can let it warm up all the way and drive 5-10 miles and it'll be almost cold again. Let me know if you figure out the problem.
