Default Engine Rebuild Question

So it seems my piston rings are starting to wear. I did a compression test and got the following numbers 250, 180, 250, 250. I added a little oil into the cylinder with the 180 reading and redid compression test and it got up to 245 so I assume the rings are bad. I plan to do a leak down test this weekend to be certain but its likely that its my rings.

Ok so here is my question I do not plan to keep the car that much longer (150k miles already and I do about 20k a year) so maybe another year or 2 at tops. My questions is im sure it makes sense to rehone all 4 cylinders and put in all new rings but do I need to do anything with the pistons themselves? Can I just clean them up with brake fluid best I can and throw some new rings into a rehoned engine block?

Also when ordering rings I just order the regular OE size right? The oversized ones are only if Im boring out the cyclinder walls to be bigger right?

Here is my original thread for more details... https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-6/need-help-blue-smoke-bad-comp-2532663/

Thanks!

If your pistons are just stock, then just order stock rings, do not get over sized. Honing is just smoothing out your cylinder walls. If you plan on Boring out your cylinder walls then you'll need larger pistons and rings. Which I don't see a need for it since you're not going to be keeping the car. And you can keep and clean and reuse your stock pistons unless they are damaged. And replace all your piston rings, not just that one. My brother had a shop replace just the number one piston rings and it gave him all sorts of trouble later, we ended up rebuilding the whole motor.

Yeah definitely stock engine and plan to keep it that way. As far as cleaning the pistons anything in particular that works well?

Get this to clean your pistons - Piston Kleen (http://www.orisonmarketing.com/clean...on/carbon.html)

I had to order it, I couldn't find it at any stores I know. My cousin told me about it, he's in the army and rebuilds motors for their trucks, planes and bikes and this is what they use. Its really good, it gets all the carbon and crap off, just let it soak for a few hours. And use rubber gloves. It has instructions on the bottle, just follow them, this stuff works great, used it a couple times already, I wished I would've found out sooner.

i agree - clean your old pistons get new oem rings and bearings and take your time rebuilding the block. if you do this correctly theres no point in selling the car in 2 years; it will last for 20 more!

Gotta love Hondas ^^
but he's right, if you put some money into the motor, you can keep it running for a LONG time. 150k on a Honda engine isn't anything to worry about.

I was going to change the valve seals aswell since im burning oil like crazy so thinking that could also be a culprit.

Here is my plan:
Have Block rehoned at machine shop
Replace Piston Rings with new OEM ones
Replace Head Gasket
Replace Head Bolts
Replace Valve Seals
Clean Valves
Clean Pistons
Reassemble

Is there anything else I need to change? Do I really need to change the bearings?

Don't forget to get a new cam seal, you can get a new blox cam seal on ebay for a good price. And you might as well have the machine shop hot tank your block while your at it, my machine shop I go to charges only $40 to hot tank. And I suggest you change your bearings and check your crank to be sure it is smooth where the bearings go, especially since you had bad rings on one of your pistons. You don't have to, but I would.
