get the numbers and then put in some oil and then see the difference. To me it sounds like your rings are bad but it could be anything but no one can help until you do comp and leak down...

could be valve seals also. but that might be a little excessive for valve seals. But then again..it depends on how you drive it....what oil you put in....and what the temps are like in your neck of the hoods.

Not to be insulting but maybe you aren't checking it correctly? I did that once and added half a quart and it all "came back" I guess you could say. It was sitting on a flat surface when I checked it initially.

hey tehghettop1mp what does that do what does it tell you when you put the oil in?? i did the compression check to my gsr and the outer pistons came back with 208 and 218 and the middle two with 180 and 185 and we put oil in and it came back fine. 210 and 211. what does that mean?

It means your middle rings are worn out, they should all test within 10ish between all four.
But only burning One quart isn't that bad for 2weeks, unless you drive it under 3k all the time,
and other then burning the oil out, and a hole in your pocket, it doesn't affect the car a whole lot.

is it smoking or no? i had the same problem wit my first gsr. everytime i would hit v-tec smoke would pour out of my exhaust and oil would be all over my back bumper and everything. it ended up being my rings. or it could be your vavle seals.

Re: (jcskyhigh)
my gsr has 170k miles now, when i used synthetic oil i burned threw atleast 1qt every 1k miles. my comp came back good on all 4 so i switched to dyno oil and i burn maybe 1qt every 3k now.

Sound like your middle rings are worn but to be honest unless your going FI or something anytime soon its nothing to REALLY worry about. If you know how to tear down an engine I would suggest a rebuild when you want to make more power or you get tired of putting oil in.
