Diagnosing loud grinding noises: suspension or exhaust?
I've noticed increasing louder clunking/grinding noises coming from my front suspension. I noticed that one of my CV boots was torn, but when that had happened once before, I remembered it being more of a clicking noise only when I turned- whereas this is a loud noise even when going straight. It also sounds more like dragging metal on the pavement and disappears when go above 15-20mph. The car drives and handles normally. Any suggestions where to look for diagnosis?
I was leaning away from a clutch/transmission issue since it stays in gear fine, doesn't grind into gear etc. The fact that it disappears at higher speeds makes me want to lean towards an exhaust or heatshield issue...

Starting to rule out exhaust problems since I couldn't find any loose or corroded heatshields and the fact that the noise completely disappears above 20 mph
