no gs-r came with a thrid brake light in the window because wings were standard. then the rims blades or fat fives. if u see no brake light and the rims suggest it as well prolly got a gs-r for a guess.

Yes, Redline on a GSR finishes at 9k, but begins at 8k.
The RPM on the cluster of GSR's are 9k.

The VIN is the best indicator. People forgot about the 4-door VINs. These are for USDM.
JH4DC2: 3-door GSR (B18C1) or ITR (B18C5)
JH4DC4: 3-door GS, LS, or RS (all B18B1)
JH4DB8: 4-door GSR (B18C1)
JH4DB7: 4-door GS, LS, or RS (not sure about RS, all B18B1)
JH4DC2: 3-door GSR (B18C1) or ITR (B18C5)
JH4DC4: 3-door GS, LS, or RS (all B18B1)
JH4DB8: 4-door GSR (B18C1)
JH4DB7: 4-door GS, LS, or RS (not sure about RS, all B18B1)

If it's in the window (with visible plugs on the outside of the glass) then it's not a GS-R. Although, the only visible exterior differences to the 94-95 GS-R and the Special Edition were the printing on the badge on the right rear of the car. The badge itself is even the same shape and size.</TD></TR></TABLE>
not true - my cousin's 97 GS had no brake light in the window - my friends GSR of the same year had brake light in the window.
really, stock for stock it depends on year.
e.g. 2001 GS vs 2001 GSR - differences are in vin, rims, vtec badge and redline. otherwise, both had leather, both had sunroof, both had painted mirrors and door moldings...
it's a big toss-up and i don't think we can really get a 100% answer.

The entire hatch or the hatch glass was replaced on that GSR. (Check the VIN sticker on the panel.) This is Honda, not GM.

not sure about that.. but it could be a very small possibility.
on a similar note, maybe canadian spec and us spec had minor differences like such?

The tach finishes at 9k.
Redline, meaning the RED LINE starts at 8100 and ends at 9000.

In the US, if it came from the factory with a wing on the back w/ LED light, then the glass had no light, with no holes or plugs or anything.
Really, the only way to tell is by the VIN. If you're just looking at pictures on a website, then there really is no sure fire 100% way to tell what trim level the car is (if there are no under-hood pics).

The tach reads up to 9500rpm, but that is NOT the redline. The redline of the actual engine is 8100 rpm, right where it starts on tach NOT where it ends. Thats all i am saying.

No. Only the ITR is lower. All other integra models have the same springs and shocks. Sway bars differ, but that does not affect ride height.

The chrome tip varies depending on the model year. It is always a dealer option as well. Some people liked the gold trim kit.
