basically it comes down to the fact that a da has just as much potential as a dc, and everyone has dc's or db's

I disagree. My opinion is that once a car is 15yrs+ it starts going towards old school JDM if its clean. Mine should be about 20 or 21 and I have young guys offering me $ left and right.

Look at the 84 and 85 Corolla. I think they look hella clean. In that category is the Nissan s13, Nissan300z, 70's Datsun, 90 TT Supra, 1st gen RX7 and on and on... If you happen to keep your clean GSR id give way more respect when it is 20 than it is now because you worked hard to keep it clean and it is still around to turn heads of this generation and upcoming generations. You will always have the 2nd gen and the last. K20s are the next thing to be played out and overrated but will eventually be old school as well.

i think the 2nd gen is what started it all really
they have good torque for the time & compared to the other Honda Engines. (even newer ex's)
Some honda motors have more hp but less tourque than the B18A.

some people say they even took a step back when the 3rd gen came out. But people also say they took a step forward.

if they took a step forward than it was a VERY small one, minimal horsepower and tq increase, yet when i put my stock ls up to a 3rd gen stock ls, guess who wins.

damn even a g for that teg is crazy i would maybe give him 500 for it cause your looking at reskinning both qtrs and with out paint it would run around 1200 so if u could get is for that 500 it may equal out and be a good deal if it runs good

Id say it all depends on the driver. I think the weight diff is within 50lbs if they're the same model. Im talkin 92-93 LSDA and 94+ LSDC and models so on. I read somewhere that the DA is very slightly lighter, but you also gotta put Aero in consideration. Id say the DA has is on that one... the DC is more bubble top but I didnt design it, did I... so i wouldnt know

the suspension would have a big part in it and how worn the engine is on each. and all the other factors like Clutch, gears, etc...

all I say every car is very different when theyre stock.
Sit down, have a drag, see who wins, then have a for the win

My old B18A had worn rings and I didnt want to bother replacing them. I tossed that out and got one with better compression and less milage. I felt that my old motor was slightly faster even when the rings were fried. I regret not keeping it on the side to build it internally and then doing a swap and after adding 20+ psi.

I just gave it away too!

the DA bay is a lot easier to work on. It's funny cuz I do have a rear projection LCD TV lol. I slowly turning into a DA lover the more I look into it. DA SQUAD FTW!!!! I noticed though that the B18 noVTEC has torque than a b18c1 is that true?

No. The gsr motor has somewhere around 15ftlbs more. Still not a bad diff for a non vtec early 90 motor. Sad for those Eks, and b16s and so on.

Yeah for sure! The GSR motor is prefect for what I want to do I just don't think I can afford it anytime soon. Meanwhile I can pick up a B18A of B18B for 300 to 600 bucks, put it on a rebuild stand, do a complete up and down on it and get 250 to 300 ponys out it before turbo!!! Thats why I like the B18 no VTECS

I havent seen any All Motor B18's non vtec hit those numbers. If you do id be glad to see that and id be impressed. thats 100+ horses without any boost. Ive seen LS-Vtec with B16 head and B18 bottom hit that but not just the B18A or B with internals and bolt ons. Definately would if built with 22lbs of boost lol

There's no way to get that much N/A power out of a non-VTEC B18A or B without resorting to extreme measures. For all motor builds the B18C is unquestionably a better engine.

Solid point; however, i still don't particularly care for the DA look. I have friends who absolutely love them...its just not my cup-o-tea

oh no doubt I love that motor!!! I almost bought a 92 DA with a B18A a few years back that was N/A and dyno at 230 so I don't know maybe with the right tunning
