coolant draining/flushing procedure, Helms manual?
Well I finally got a Helms manual for Christmas
I noticed that it does not show a procedure for flushing the coolant, but only for draining and refilling (changing coolant is one of the few things I have not done myself, yet). Now the Helms says to remove the coolant drain bolt on the engine block when draining, but the Haynes says to just remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator and let it drain. The Haynes then says to hook everything up w/o the thermostat in order to flush old coolant out. If I do this, then removing the coolant drain bolt on the engine block should not be necessary, am I correct?
<--- will be keeping the Haynes manual in addition to the Helm's for situations just like this (since Helms does not go into so much detail on maintenance procedures).

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Take the radiator cap off and the plug out and it woill drain. pull the plugs and crank the engine and it will turn the water pump and push the rest of the water out.
The drain plug on the block is on the front and easy to pull out with a 3/8" wratchet.
