Default Comptech H/I/E

Hey guys, how much horsepower gains do you think I would get out of a catback exhaust system, a header, and a icebox(all from comptech) in a B18b1 1999 ls?
I've heard good things, what do you guys think?

with intake exhaust header combo, you wont get as much gains for the money you spent, i dunno......i say at the most 15-20, if that

10-15, most from the intake.

still, comptech stuff is NICE and the I/H/E is essential if you want gains from cams/pistons/etc.

you should get a cheap intake from ebay, 30 bucks, then get a skunk2 IM.. that'd help you with some more gains in hp and some small #'s in TQ also

With that little in mods, the Skunk2 IM would probably do more harm than good. He may gain some up top, but i dont think it will be worth the loss of low-end.

I'm thinking the same too.

Lots of money just for those gains.

Comptech is good stuff though.

you will probably get about 15-20 hp gain with that, maybe a little more. if you are going to get bigger cams, pistons etc in the future then you should get a h/e that will complement that upgrade otherwise your performance will be sacrificed and you will have to spend more money to make it right

Figured I'd chime in since I've got the comptech icebox, intake, tig header, hi-flow cat ( carsound ) and catback exhaust on my 00 gsr.

First you need to figure out what your future plans with your integra are. If you plan on making big HP then the comptech header/exhaust isn't for you. You'll want 2.5 at least. The icebox is good for any setup really.

The reason I went with this setup is because I gained HP throughout the entire rpm band. Because of this setup I gained some in lowend hp rather than losing hp there. This is my daily driver and all of my mods reflect that. Now my 240/sr20 will be my main project car and I could care less how loud it is and how comfortable it will be on a road trip.

This combo is perfect because it looks stock and sounds really really good. Nice and deep, not to mention the quality is awesome.

This is an old pic but before I put the icebox part on.

Like he said though if you plan on going FI down the road don't buy anything yet, it'd be pointless.

So guys, is it fun guessing what he wants to do? This is leggo building at its best.

Do this, do that, yeah I did this and that works good. This forum is so far behind. Still on I/H/C/E posts "What power will I get"? Sad, very sad.

Please do some reading before you build up your car. You will be very disapointed with the results of your parts if you don't. You will also need to fuel tune to get the best out of your modifications if you plan on I/H/C/E.

i'm also interested in which cat you got. i just bought a comptech header and catback exhaust and i'm wondering what size cat to get and how many O2 bungs are needed. I was thinking of just getting a 2.25 inch rather than 2.0-2.25 since it's significantly cheaper and i dont think it would really affect flow, but i have no idea about the bungs.

Yeah you'll get about 10-15 at the most 20 if that. I have the comptech sport axleback. That thing is sensational. the exhaust note cant be beat by the SP2 or WS, they dont even come close. I'd recomend a AEM SR Intake instead of the icebox as well

I believe it was a 2.25. Ethier way it had the two O2 sensors holes and came with a plug. Kind of nice because you just plug up which ever bung won't work for you. Picked it up from IPS Racing. Had to do a little adjusting after I installed it it to make sure it wasn't rubbing against my shifter anymore.
