I always remove the whole knuckle and remove the caliper amd hang it up out of the way. it leaves more room to work with by having the whole corner removed. amd yes passanger only

yes, ball joint(lower)+ remove pass axle(32mm nut). The ball joint drops right back into the lower control arm hole with a little guidance.

whole DIY here http://www.turboinstall.net/general-...lutch-install/

drive axle portion is here http://www.turboinstall.net/general-...a/drive-axles/

should give you a good idea

also note, one reason there are jokes about torque values is from having a clutch come apart under racing conditions. going a little over on the plate and flywheel bolts won't hurt anything

I just pulled my motor when I did it. so much easier with the room but I changed the clutch, slave, tie rods inner and outer, ball joints, ucas, motor mounts, tq mounts and tranny, took me about 2 days. I ordered a 3/4 breaker bar and a 32mm socket for about 20 bucks. best investment I have ever made. broke 2 1/2 breakers on the damn spindle nut

Thank you guys and racebum for those links the axel one cleared up a fair bit. I do have a helper and a full days time 10am to-whenever so i'm sure I can do it in 2-3 days(counting on some slip up's).

did you make sure to un spike the nut first before trying to unbolt?

doesn't matter if you unspike it. some of them are original and in my case it took a 400lb impact gun, a torch, and half a can of PB blaster to get one side off.

One guy on the forums broke a 1/2 breaker bar trying to take off the pulley bolt. I myself snapped a 1/2 extension in half doing the same thing, and almost shattered the breaker bar when I used impact grade extensions and sockets.

I couldn't even get the axle nut off with 5ft worth of leverage and my entire body weight. I ended up having to torch the nut, shoot the axle with pb blaster, then hit it with the impact over and over till it finally came loose.
