chipped ECU and fuel pump wont turn on??
so i chipped an ecu for my friend about 3 weeks ago. everthing was work n fine. no problems with the ecu in my integra. but when he put it in his EG, it still ran great but it threw the cruise control light on. we tried a different ecu and the cruise control light didnt come on. so it was the ecu throw n the light. (both ecu's were chipped P28's)
so he calls me and tells me that the ecu is not work n so i take it home and try it out on my car. i tried to start it up but it wouldnt start at all. it was not throw n a solid CEL (only a cel for code 21---> vtec cuz i have an LS). so i put my ecu in the car and it started right up. put his back in, put the key in the on position and i didnt hear the fuel pump prime so im like wtf? so i tried to start the car and it started for like 3 seconds but then died (probably started cuz the fuel lines still had fuel in it from when i started the car with my ecu). i turned the key to off position then back to on. but still no fuel pump priming. so i decide to connect pin A7 (fuel pump) on the ecu to ignition power but it still didint want to prime. i resoldered EVERY point on the ecu but to no avail. still the pump is not priming.
so im think n about just run n ignition power straight to the fuel pump instead of using the ecu to supply the pump with voltage. Any downfalls from doing this? (i think the pump wil stay on all the time when the key is in the on position. it wont cut off in like 2 seconds like it's supposed too)
