cel wont come on when I turn on the ignition and pump wont prime but car will start fine
I have a 92 VTI EG6 with an p30 edm ecu (it has been chipped).
The probelm is that when I turn on the ignition the CEL does not come on and the pump does not prime, also when I put the car in self diag. mode the cel light stays on. But the car runs fine and it will start, abiet a few seconds slower as the pump has not primed the system.
I have done a lot of searches on the forums and have done quite a few checks this is what I have done so far:-
The CEL light works fine when I ground the connection from the ecu.
Checked all the 12 v suppiles to the ECU,
Checked all the earths to the ecu (cleaned thermostat housing earths),
Checked ecu circuit board solder joints,
Bench tested main relay (good) and checked the wiring from the relay to the ecu, pump etc.
Changed a few of the electrolitic capacitors on the ECU (c14 (fuel pump one), c15 and a couple others.
I have found no defects.
Does anyone know which components on the ECU are involved in priming the pump for a few seconds on ignition and which components drive the CEL on self test.
Thanks for any help.

If I had a spare ECU, I would try it.
I am pretty sure the probelm in the ecu anyway.
