boost old motor or n/a new motor?
to make this short, i can go either way for really cheap right now, and i cant decide whether to boost my older gsr motor with 145k miles on it, or to get a 00 model gsr motor with 32k miles and mild head work. what would everyone do? i know this will turn into a fi vs na argument, but would it really be reliable and safe to boost the older motor?

very funny..i am in the same situation..i have a 94 gsr with 186k on the block i have a aftermarket GUDE racing head...milled down and im runnin about 11:5:1 COMPRESSION..so i was gonna throw my stock head back on and boost ot for 10 lbs average gsr at 10lbs ive seen is 270-300 depending on how tuned it is..thats pretty tempting...but like you said i dont know how long the bottom end would hold up...and if it went then im toast 4 awile..so im gonna stick with the all motor setup for the fall and i also have a ls block im gonna get that built , add my gsr head and get it built then boost next spring...yahwe can both get boost now...but if you wait think about the end result...hella fast...theres a guy at are local racetrack...Ozark international speedway that just finished his built ls/vtec turbo hatch..he tunes with Hondata...he ran a 10.7 on 14Psi thats crazy...but hes also running 10:5:1 compression with turbo..hes gonna compete though so its not his daily driver to worry about it...hope this helps...
