b20 vtec or ls vtec?
im looking to do an all motor build, im not sure whether to do an ls vtec or a b20 vtec, i have a b20b block and a b18b block all stock internals in both, ive heard that b20's dont like to rev 8k on stock internals but make an *** load of torque, and an ls has really good mid range, im probably gonna build one of them up later on but i wanna jus slap a head on one of them and go which one should i put together?

I love the CRVTEC,they can rev past 8k,your not gonna make any power past 8800 anyway so its just a waste.its not the bottom end that will give out,if you have a block girdle.Just be sure your valves, springs, and retainers are good and you should have no problem. And Enjoy Your Torque!

I don't know about using the block girdle but yes the stock B20 bottom end won't hold up to 8k rpms. You can easily make it rev to 8k if you put in new rod bearings with ARP rod bolts and ARP head studs to hold it together. Those won't be much more money since you just want to slap it together for now, otherwise if you don't want to change anything I would just stick with the LS/VTEC for now just so you don't have to worry.
