eh, i did this in the past and couldn't pick up any radio stations. It looked clean, but I wanted my radio stations to come in. I ran speaker wire through the car hoping to get a signal, but it never worked....if I were to go that route again, I'd rather just put a plug in that spot instead of an antenna that doesn't work.

Speaker wire and antenna wire are not the same thing...they may look the same but they are not. Antenna wire is MADE to pick up outside frequencies. Plus alot of systems use impedance matching..read more here http://www.electronics-tutoria...s.htm

When i bought mine the antenna was shaved.. it looks real nice and i get radio fine...

thats odd because i shoved my antenna down and it still receives radio signal perfectly, although i listen to my ipod now.

the s2k comes with alittle signal booster under the antenna. awhile back someone on here installed that with the s2k antenna and said it worked great. i have just the antenna and it does ok for radio around town, i never use the radio tho
