do this too. anyway, there is a screen in the top of the injector. once you pull all 4 remove the screen and clean it with brake cleaner. re install and run

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
I checked the TPS, IAT, IAC and MAP sensors and they all were in spec. I also pulled the cat off and it didn't "look" clogged. My car has recently started idleing worse and shaking constantly while I drive. The exhaust now makes a put put put noise and smells like gas. I did a compression test and got 145, 175, 150, 190. While this is in spec, the numbers aren't pretty. I added oil to the two cylinders with low compression numbers and got them up to 180, 195, 175, and 190....bad rings. Several weeks since that test the car has gotten much worse and bogs. Turning on the AC just about makes it stall. Timing is dead on, has a brand new distributor, wires, and plugs that are gapped correctly as well as all the new parts I stated in the first post. Any more guesses?

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
your icm could be failing intermittently due the wires missing insulation like you spoke of eairlier. you might just have to eat the bullet and buy a new one or like it has been said like 10 times above swap with a friend. if the donor fails then look in to the fuel injectors. they could be failing intermittently as well.

Do a leak down to confirm your compression results. The real problem is your compression.Your misfires are not fuel or ignition related.I've seen this before and have suggested all that stuff the other members posted but it wasn't until i got off my lazy *** and did a leak down test that i found out the real culprit.

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
I have a bone stock 1998 Acura Integra LS. It has 177,000 miles on it. The timing belt was replaced 10k miles ago and have never had a problem with it. In the last 500 miles I have been getting misfires on all 4 cylinders on a consistant basis. I did the paperclip diagnostic w/the CEL codes getting 71, 72, 73, 74 as well as had autozone check it with their computer and they got the same readings...random misfires on all 4 cylinders. My car can drive great for 20-30 miles and then all of a sudden drive like crap...stuttering and causing a loss of power for several minutes at a time, and then randomly drive perfect again. It happens both when the engine is warm or cold, and also while accelerating or cruising at a constant speed.
Things I have done:
New:
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Dist. Cap
Rotor
Coil
Fuel filter
Fuel pump
PCV Valve
Main relay
Seafoam in gas tank
Checked for vacuum leaks
I don't know what else to try. I have read all of the forums and websites I can find on the internet and can't find a solution. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
Compression test again today. No oil added since last time which was 2-3 weeks ago. 190-180-180-190. My #3 cylinder is not firing at all. Plug was black. I did test and I am still getting spark on the #3 cylinder. I ordered some new seals+o-rings for my injectors and am going to take them out to look at them and maybe swap the #3 with another cylinder to see if it is a bad injector. The car sounds like a WRX lol

Yeah they might be valves that are slightly bent.Like i said leak down will pinpoint if it's a mechanical problem or not and would save you time and money.

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
mean's it obviously not firing on cyl. number three like you said. did you swap injectors around like you said you were going to do?

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
I had to order the injector seals and o-ring and they will be here Wednesday...so I will swap them Wednesday and see if there is any difference.

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!
Got my new fuel injector seals today so I pulled out all of the injectors to find that the seals were bone dry and CAKED with black sludge...cylinder 3 being the worst. I removed the old dried out seals, cleaned the injectors in sea foam, coated the new seals in oil and reinstalled. Idles smooth, no CEL, and drives soooooooo much better. Wish I tried this earlier!!!

Injectors were dirty. Cleaned them, worked for a week and problem came back. Bought used injectors off ebay...swapped them in...driven 10k miles no
problem.
PS: inejector cleaner in the fuel tank did NOTHING to clean the injectors.

Re: All four cylinders misfire...tried everything
I stand corrected
Yeah most of that injector cleaner crap is trash. Could have simply had a bad injector, which sounds like you fixed the problem. Here's to hoping it doesn't come back.
