Adjusting the clutch pedal
Anyone done this? Mine has alot of free play, and I suspect its preventing the clutch from fully disengaging at times.
IE. Sometimes I can't get it into first, but if I push down extra hard it goes in easily.. kinda like it needs another quarter inch to move.
my repair manual has a description but no pictures it says
1. Loosen the locknut at the base of the clutch switch
2. Loosen the locknut at the rear of the pedal pin
3. Turn the pushrod in or out to btain the specified amount of pedal play
4. Tighten the locknut located to the rear of the pedal pin
5. Turn the clutch switch until it contacts the pedal shaft
6. Turn the clutch switch one turn farther
7. Tighten the locknut on th switch
8. Loosen the locknut on the clutch interlock switch.
9. Mesaure the clearance between the clutch pedal and the floor boar with the clutch pedal depressed.
10. Allow the clutch pedal to rise from the floor until it is 0.59-0.79 inc. above the full bottom measurement
11. Adjust the interlock switch so that the engine will start from this position
12. Turn the interlock switch three quarters to one turn further.
13. Tighten the locknut to secure the position of the clutch interlock switch.
Now, I think I know 1 - 3 ok. I think its talking about the bolt & pin that the clutch pedal rests against when its not pressed down.
But the clutch switch, clutch interlock switch, I have no clue where they are. Any idea's?
