I can usually tell which one is the foglight wire by looking at the connector on the end. The headlights are a bronze color and the foglights are silver (at least on mine...). The wire should not be part of the cluster that comes out of the switch. Hope this helps...

Has anyone just installed the fogs separate of everything else? Just run the wires to the battery and then to a switch that controls the fogs? Seems like the way to go if you didn't feel up to finding another source. Just a thought.
I have a set of OEM fogs that I've had for 2 years. This thread reminds me I eventually should get those installed. I just don't know if I really like the look.

you could do that but its pointless, as you'll have more wires to run.
you can splice it into any 12v accessory wire its up to you.
it would be a bad idea hooking it up to the battery as if you forget to turn off that switch, and you leave the lights running be prepared to call a friend.
