96 DB7 4dr sunroof problems
Well I hit the switch and it barely moves and the glass is basically sliding along the roof and has made huge gashes in the paint. Is there a write up anywhere on how you would even trouble shoot this ? My guess is it's either the motor or the cabling . That's the only two main components I can think of. Any help is greatly appreciated . Should I just try and get a whole nother assembly from a junkyard ?

if the glass is hitting the roof, then the glass is also not completely attached...might wanna look for things missing or broken.
might also help to take some close-up pics of the hinge/slider assemblies while the sunroof is open and post em up.

I have the same issue and have been told from a honda tech to replace the hole thing. the gears that lift the glass up strip and was told once you take it apart you will never get it to go back together. dose yours leak water to?

If you can find a replacement for cheap, I say go for it. unless the motor and lifters ends up being cheaper overall.

Mine kinda does the same thing as well. My roof has a scrape on the passenger side. I pulled the fuse so I don't do it on accident(always had it open in my dc). So is the conclusion it has to be replaced as a whole? That blows if so :/

No, you can buy the glass slide lifter from the dealer if yours is broken. If its not, then your sunroof frame might be loose or the slider needs to be reset and/or adjusted. The slider is the part the glass is bolted onto.

sweet thnx dc2 . I think I'm going to just replace the whole thing. I found a replacement locally. Is their a step by step for this somewhere ? In all honesty I think straight up that its just the motor , because its still lifting just not enough.
