2.0L Ls Vtec Turbo
Hey guys I am a Ls-turbo right now and there is a guy selling his 2.0L Ls Vtec motor for $5000 I guess its already built BRAND NEW w/o any miles on it...he said it has over $7000 invested in it but I'm not sure if I should trust him that it FULLY works and is BUILT correctly. He will send me pics and specs on it on what he did to it, but another question is if I should buy it or should I save that money and built MY motor that has 170k on it? And I would have to replace a whole buncha parts like the axels n stuff if I did buy that motor correct?

ask for paper work, reciepts are crucial, specs, pictures, have a mechanic or someone you know that builds motors go with you to, to inspect the motor. If all is good...then you'll be owning

So building my own motor to go 2.0L lsvtec would be cheaper than if I bought it? I'll give you guys the specs when he sends them to see if its worth it deal...this is what he said....
I bought this motor brand-new and was not able to finish my project due to lack of funds...Javier @ JG Enginedynamics in CA screwed me over. Now I'm moving on...my loss, your incredible gain. This is a FULLY built, near bullet-proof, block and head, LS-VTEC bored to 2.0, turbo ready. As is, easily over 200hp at the wheels. With turbo and proper fuel and enginemanagement, easily 500+hp at the wheels. Able to safely handle up to 40 lbs. of boost. Brand new, the motor was $6000. Included, and installed, are Stage5 Clutchmasters clutch and lightened flywheel, able to handle 500hp, worth about $800. So, your getting a bullet-proof motor, clutch, and flywheel at an incredible price...about $2000 in savings! You'll have the fastest daily driver in town!
he hasnt given me the specs yet but hows it look?

sounds like a sick *** motor... get those papers and figure out why he feels like he got punked by javier. 5 gs will get you a lot of motor if you want to learn how to put something together on your own though.

Re: (jomama)
Matt,
personally i wouldn't buy the motor. i would much rather have a car that was built, not bought. that motor maybe bad *** but neither of have seen the internals. i dont know if its sleeved or not. just buy stuff for motor and go 2.0L ls/vtec turbo and you'll be the fastest one in all of western washington. well almost lol.

I think you all are missing the 2.0L part...but either way I am going to have to rebuild my motor cause it has over 170,000miles on it...correct? I would much rather have a motor that has low miles than that high of miles...
and JOMAMA you are correct I could build my own motor and learn how to do it...good point...
but so with less than 5,000 I could have what he has and build it for less? maybe better?

use that 5k as a down payment on a 91 nsx which average about 20k-27k...
and when you have the nsx... youll be faster and be able to handle a crap load more then any integra...

rebuild your motor..it would cost you less than 7gs. I'm pretty sure you know your motor inside out too(know what stuff you have in your motor) so it is best for you to build your own motor.
