Icon5 What color is this smoke?

I put this '96 JDM GSR engine in my '90 Teg Ls about a year ago. Lately I haven't been running the car but 3 times a month. Is this rich fuel smoke, condensation? There's a pretty good puddle of water forming under the exhaust pipe. I doesn't look like oil to me.

What do you guys think.

Anybody have an opinion on this? I'm not using OEM injectors so I'm wondering if it's burning too rich.

Thanks

What color is this smoke? I put this '96 jdm gsr in my '90 Ls a year or so ago.....not oem injectors tho. Is this rich burning? I don't think it's oil and I haven't been driving a lot lately. Notice the puddle of water forming under the exhaust. Is it just condensation coming out, rich fuel, oil? I'm also not using OEM injectors. What do you guys think?

One minute video.

Was that cold startup? Normal for a car to run rich when cold. If it's blowing smoke out like that all the time, you probably have other issues (Bad rings or burned valves).

Did you let the car warm up? Have you driven it or has it been sitting? Try to drive it around for five minutes and see if it does that after being driven. It might just be condensation from sitting in the cold weather. Do you have a catalytic converter?

It was a cold morning, the gauge just barely showing normal, but not driven. I've only been driving it about 3 times a month. Yes, magnaflow cat about 5-6 years old now. I don't see any smoke when I'm driving it....I look, but don't see any when behind the wheel....looking thru the mirrors or looking backwards.

I'll do it again, next time I drive it.

That's normal its just condensation. When you cold start the engine you will get that smoke and condensation especially if you dont drive it much.

If your not using OEM injectors what injectors are you using? stock spec? stock ECU?

You will deff need a tune if your using any injector size bigger than stock, the engine will not run correct or 100%.

These injectors are made/modified by Oside. Made for Obd1 B18C. 12 hole bosch injectors. Oside said they were the appropriate size. I think they're 300cc, The engine runs really good and performs exceptionally at hgh throttle...or low or mid-range....still could be a tad rich. I don't know. As long as it's not OIL.
I kept the oem intake manifold. Dual runners.

OSIDETIGER - Home

They are punchy....faster revs. I had the first set for my B18a1 and noticed a difference right off so I got them for my B18c. ECU is a US model, P72 with Hondata, with the stock JDM '96 b18c upload.

Running rich is not nearly as bad as running lean. Most tuners will tune a bit rich to be safe. Find out what size injectors you have and then check in Hondata in the parameters and see what size injector is chosen, if its not the same CC change and save it if your worried. But if it runs and drives leave it be. You can always install a AFR gauge and monitor the air fuel ratio all the time. Best tool for the engine/ECU you can get! will save your *** one day! same goes for a Oil pressure gauge. These 2 gauges will be the most important fail safe tool you can install to monitor those parameters.

Yeah, I think at the very least a real oil pressure gauge is warranted. I'll look into it. Thanks for the info.

Here's the one i have, very simple to install. And the plug has a rubber Gromit unlike other kits. Multi colors too! Pull the OEM oil pressure sensor and install this one.

How accurate is the pressure reading when taken from that stock pressure sensor location? I didn't realize install could be that easy.
