$19.99 for a Honda Oil Filter!!!!!!!
Took my baby to the Acura Dealer for it 9,000 miles Oil Change. Yeah, Yeah I know......should do it myself. Since I don't have a garage I take it to the dealer, but this will be the last time I take it to the dealer because I'm buying a House with a nice garage.
Anyway they wanted to charge me $19.99 for the Oil Filter since I provided the oil MOBIL 1. I looked at them and asked them if the oil filter had a Gold trim. After a few minutes they came back and charge me $8.88 for the filter.
This Acura Dealer is freaking STUPID!!!!!

Re: $19.99 for a Honda Oil Filter!!!!!!! (GSR2001)
I went to my Acura dealer here in Monterey, CA, and only paid $5.87 for my '01 GSR's oil filter and crush water. I guess dealers can set their own price for parts at a whim and see if they can get away with it.

Yeah, acura dealerships are pretty fucked up, they said it cost around $600 of labor to install a full dashboard.
I would have done it myself, but my dad wanted insurance to pay.

yeah, my Acura dealer here in Socal seems to set prices at their own whim also. I spoke to 3 different guys in parts and got 3 different price quotes! Bling.

HEY FAWKER! THATS MY SN!!!!!! grrr lol damn jocker!
I used to always go to Crest Honda in Nashville for my oil filters, they were $6 and change. Since there isn't a Honda dealer around school, I use STP filters from AutoZone now, about $2 each.

on the "crush water" thing.. the guy meant the Crush Washer.. the washer that goes w/ the drain plug....
anyway you said you weren't doing the oil change yourself because you don't have a garage right? so you were at the service counter.. not the parts counter... although $20 is high when your providing your own oil... you gotta pay something for labor too right? even if your providing your own oil.. you still gotta pay for the oil filter and the labor for them to put your car on a lift, take out the drain bolt, drain the oil, take out the oil filter, put in a new one... put back drain bolt and new crush washer, lower the car back down and put in your mobil 1...

Re: $19.99 for a Honda Oil Filter!!!!!!! (GSR2001)
so they wanted $20 for the filter alone + labor and all those disposal tax/charges? thats crazy... I thought you meant they wanted $20 total for an oil and filter change procedure... sorry for the misunderstanding..

disposal charges
On another note, it amazes me how many of you seriously think people were confused when he said 'crush water.' They were just giving him a hard time. heehee...
