More information on your setup?

Is this your STOCK d16z6?

Check your oil level, oil pressure and do you have any check engine lights?

The reason your speedo jumps around is b/c some of the pins in your speed sensor are corroded and it doesn't have anything to do with BOOST! And as for your VTEC not "kickin' in" it's b/c your ecu doesn't sense that your car is under load therefore no VTEC!

btw VTECH is a phone!!!

Your VTECH won't kick in cause it's off the hook!

Might I remind you gentelmen who provide no real information other than it's VTEC, not VTECH

If a member asks where the VTECH solenoid is on his or her car, just answer. No need for the VTECH phone pictures, no need for 20 posts calling him a noob and telling him how VTEC is spelled. Honestly, it’s not that important. Answer their question and then get on with your day.

Ok I'll redeem myself....
Three causes of why VTEC won't kick in:
Not enough oil pressure
Not at normal operating temperature
Not moving fast enough

Also could be a bum solenoid, or your wiring could have breaks etc.

Vtec not Vtech.

Well if the cluster is not working then your speed sensor is wacked out for some reason and therfor the vtec will not work. Vtec will only engage through the speed of the car.

A faulty VSS (vehicle speed sensor) would disable VTEC and cause the speedometer to act erratically. I'd start by replacing the VSS.

Do you have a vtec light or something that indicates that vtec is kicking in? It's barely noticable on a d series.

Clearly after rules have been stated..You come through and post something that isn't funny.

After one person told him:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ek9800 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i can shine some light in on you're spelling problems..its VTEC not VTECH...search so many threads on this</TD></TR></TABLE>

After two people tell him:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DSeriesBKilla &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The reason your speedo jumps around is b/c some of the pins in your speed sensor are corroded and it doesn't have anything to do with BOOST! And as for your VTEC not "kickin' in" it's b/c your ecu doesn't sense that your car is under load therefore no VTEC!

btw VTECH is a phone!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>

After the third person say's something:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 94dc-er &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ur VTECH doesnt kick it cuz it's not plug in.</TD></TR></TABLE>

<FONT SIZE="4">THEN</FONT> after the forum moderator posts the ******* rules.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Ricey McRicerton &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Might I remind you gentelmen who provide no real information other than it's VTEC, not VTECH

Now you need to be <FONT SIZE="6">docked points.</FONT>

People like you are the reason's the forum is in the shape that it's in.
