Default high end? short ram or cold air?

which one makes more power at high end? short ram or cold air? Im building a all motor ls/vtec but I was just curious I just got my swap done and ima do bolt ons first. Thanks guys!

im pretty sure cold air is better because it sucks in colder air which burns better than warmer air.

i heard that cold air is more mid range, and short ram is more high end, but i could be wrong, either way, cold air is more expensive and u get what u pay for

WRONG! Short ram actually does better up top, cold-air is better low-mid...

Peak V.E. will be reached later in the powerband with a shorter length intake tube. Also throttle response will be superior.

Yep, short rams are better for top end. My first mod on my Teg was a CAI, but later on when I decided exactly what my plan for my car was, I switched out my AEM CAI for a Comptech Icebox, I'm going for a high rpm powerband. CAI's have better throttle response at high rpm's than a cold air. The only advantage a cold air has over a short ram as far as HP goes is that it is in fact drawing in colder air at take-off, but when the car is moving, the advantage is over now that fresh air is now entering the engine bay.
