Recently there was an auction on eBay for CRX-spec floor mats. Being del Sol enthusiasts, the sellers did not realize the logo on the second gen mats was first generation.




It turns out this husband and wife team live just down the figurative road from me. I am trying to convince them to pay the $100 or so required to digitize the 2nd gen logo for the 2nd gen mats. I told them I would see how much interest there is for the mats with the 2nd gen logo. I thought at least ten folks, if not many more, would be willing to pay the $62. I know I would.

So? Who's interested?

I'll be checking them out this Friday. They do not have the wire in them which actually could be a good thing -- mine came out pretty quick. They sold seven on eBay during the last auction. I know it is picky, but I want the correct CRX logo on them. Anyway, I'll check them out Friday and report back. Anyone else interested, let me know so I can get a head count.

 

i dont even care about the logo i just want a good fitment but i'm willing to pay 70 shipped.. to california

 

id pay 62 for mats like that. its impossible to find real ones anymore, and even if you do, they wouldnt be new like that.

but see if you can get the font for second gens.

 

now that ive taken a look at the closeups on the auction page, those are really well made.

id settle for the existing logo as long as they arent too wide. do a test fitment on your whip !!!

i saw some in a CRX i almost bought that the "CRX" stitch was running up and down in stead of side to side. But i really like the one at the top.

 

yea, i like them... do they make others of that (i.e. 4th gen civic logo)

 

if it had the crx stitched and it fit good, i would buy it

They said they would look into the CR-X. It is the embroidery setup fee the factory charges that makes them hesitate to do too many different designs.

I can be cheap on lots of things (I've got an eBay strut bar ). But I don't want to look at an ill-fitting mat every day. I am getting one without the logo for everyday and one with for when I want to show off the car.

 

Update: They are going ahead and ordering the logo tomorrow! They said they will rush the factory but that it usually takes two or three weeks to design one and have it go back and forth for an approval. I hope to have a pair for the meet in San Antonio on October 9-10.

I will still look at them Friday to make they are as nice as they appear in the pictures.

i'm definatly interested, i would love to get the CRX vtec on it but the second gen crx logo will work as long as the fit is good.

The OE mats (2nd gen) have a silver stripe down one side, any luck in optimizing the design for this...and color match....not just a plain black?

(not trying to be picky, but would like to find close to oe as possible if your going to go thru the trouble of duplicating the logo, might as well do the rest....lol)

I have 4 sets of OE mats, can take pic and email it to you if you need a design to follow.

I'm with him. I would prefer if they matched the OEMs with the stripe as well. From the shapes of the mats, they look like a dead on fit too.

I would rock it with the CRX (second gen) logo for sure.. with or without the stripe, but the stripe would make it "OEM"
