no you dont have to take out your axle...just take out the lower alternator bracket and the alternator comes right out...

if you want you can remove it from the top. all you have to do is remove the mc from the booster (do not remove the brake lines) and push it to the side. I found this way to be the easiest.

when I do it, I just take off the braket that holds it on and slide it through the wheel well.....no need to take out axle

You can also pass the alternator under the intake manifold to the passanger side of the car.
Then you can lift it up and out.

easiest way is to slide the alternator under the intake manifold, and squeeze it
threw the two coolant hoses side by side, saves a lot of headaches

well i GOTER DONE!!! last night i got it out. but the easyest way for me to do it was to take out the Axel i just jacked it up real high on one side and pulled the axel out. but then when i got the old Alternator out i couldn't get the new one back in so i had to take out the oil filter out to get the new one in. but it wasn't to bad only took me about 2 hours doing everything so i'm happy!!. so Thanks to every one that gave me their point of views
