failed emissions need help
ok guys i posted before because i had failed emissions testing, ohio sucks. some said it was because of the 370cc injectors i was running so i got the stock 345's and went again and the numbers are almost identicle here they are
SUPPOSED TO BE
HC----349 / 127 FAIL
CO----5.69 / .71 FAIL
NO----368.5 / 910 PASS
Mysetup is a 92 si 4ws with a 95 h22a(jdm) now with the stock sized 345cc injectors i have an aem intake, cheapo exhaust, high-flow cat, aem pullies, and a ecu that came with the swap (supposed to be a skunk 2 program i know they dont make one for the h22).I am thinking that my ecu is making it run rich, but i dont have money for a stock p13 nor do i want to spend it for it, you guys think it would be ok if i swapped out my h23 p14 in the parking lot and just left it in for them to do the test and then swapped back, i dont want to take a chance of running it too lean, or are there any other options for me. thanks

whoa i recently got my prelude from akron.
since i don't know too much on the technical side of this kind of thing, often times the best thing you can do is try to get some sympathy from a different mechanic, get to know him for like 2 minutes and drop the car off. there's a place in springfield, VA out here that passed like 5 of my friends cars when they were in reality way too low to pass. if you can't beat em, join em (or something). seriously, just try other mechanics, sometimes they like you and pass you. good luck.

thats funny cause i picked up mine from virginia
anyways i think its the ecu just running it rich, what would happen if i swapped the ecu for my h23 ecu right before the test and had them run it with the h23 ecu and just switched back right after the test.

actually there is a supposed skunk2 chip for USDM ecus, and it is richer than the stock usdm program as well.
and as far as i know the h23 ecu is designed to run smaller injectors, so with the fuel mapping being based on teh smaller injectors it could conceivably make your car run even more rich.
