Saturday Night Events (no way 56k)
Saturday night was looking to be a great night. We decided to get several of the guys together and go out for dinner. We went out to TGI Fridays where we snapped a few pics. Things were going great and we were all having a great time. We decided to head up north a bit and see what was going on where all the imports hang out on Saturday night. We decided to head down the gas station about a mile away that has 95 octane at the pump. Here are some of the pics from TGI Friday's.

When sitting at the stop light pulling out of TGI Friday's my car was making a funny noise at idle. I decided that I better check this out when I get to the gas station. Light turns green and I pull out. I baby the car through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. Right before I shift to 4th it feels like it lost a bit of power. I then shift to 4th and car starts to sputter, then comes clanking metal, then the motor dies. I hit the hazards and coast off in to a parking lot. I get out and do a visual inspection. I first look at the timing belt (cut valve cover) and it is still there. I then check the tension on the intake and exahust sides and it is tight on both sides. I then check the oil and it's completely full. So I decide to try and turn it over while the guys watch the motor. Motor turns, accessory belts turn, timing belt does not. We call a tow truck who actually gets it on the flat bed with hardly any scraping of the front end (my car is SLAMMED). We get it in to my garage and fire up the air compressor. About an hour later..............
TJ & I going to work

Still working

Damn it's hot in here

What's this? A missing tooth?

I know where this goes!

Head. Notice where the valves hit the pistons.

Why won't these close?

What's left of the timing belt

The broken teeth were at the bottom of the crank pulley which is why the cams were not turning. Time for a rebuild.......
What did we all learn here? DO NOT RUN TODA SPEC C'S ON A STOCK TIMING BELT! I was dumb, now I have to pay.

The pistons are scared. I probably COULD still run them but I have a problem with the pistons rings anyway. Now is the time to have it built. Sleeved, 84mm, 12.5 comp, EMS...who knows what else. Oh yeah, TODA TIMING BELT!

45k miles on the timing belt, still the original one. I put the cams in the car a few days before the Expo. I drove to PA & back, about 2k miles total on C's.
