How to identify an ITR cat?
Im looking for any visual clues to identify a Type R cat. I recently found out my R has LS exhaust pieces. I know the headers and muffler/rear section are LS, so now I'm trying to figure out what the rest of it is from. Anything visual will do...stamps, numbers, measurments, markings. Thanks guys!
Thanks Bbasso!
Does it look significantly different from say....a GS-R or LS Cat? I have heard that the length is different from R to GS-R.

I believe the R's cat is different from a GSR and closer to an LS. This should be from the exhaust manifold setup. ( Type R, LS and B16 ) lengths i heard were the same (length) wise.

what about the obd1 94-95 gsr?
what about the obd1 94-95 gsr?
The ITR and LS, GS, RS have the same exhaust layout, and same cat lenth.
The GSR has a different cat/shorter header pre-2000 model year.
The LS/ITR/RS/GS cat is interchangable.

The GSR cat is also the same length. The difference in the GSR 96-99 cat is that it has 2 O2 bungs where the 95 and older GSRs have 1 O2 bung on the inlet side of the cat.

Scroll down below, this is the ITR cat I bought.

The catalyst element only covers ~1/2 the total length of the cat. My thinking is that this would increase flow rate over the LS cat which I assume has a catalyst that goes the entire length of the cat.
