I wasnt sure where to put this but i figured it would get the most views here. I recently did a deal with Octavio Smith from california. He said he had his own business called High Octane R&D. I found an add he had on thepartstrader.com for a b16 head with stainless steel valves, titainium springs and retainers, and it was tapped for b20/vtec. We talked on the phone and through email quite a few times before the deal was made. I sent him the money through pay-pal and he said he would send the head. everything was cool untill about a week and a half later, when i still had not recieved a tracking number. after trying to contact him over and over i finally threatend to file a claim with pay-pal. Just hours later he called and said that the head had been resurfaced at a machine shop and was shipping out that day. he was very apologetic and gave me the tracking number. this was good. then about a week later i recieved the head. Not only was it not a b16 head,(GSR), but it wasnt tapped for vtec and its all stock. No aftermarket valves, springs, or retainers. Not to mention it was all crammed in a tiny *** box with no packing material what so ever that was spilt open when i got it. Since i got the head, i have made repeated atempts to contact him through email and by phone and he wont respond to anything. He was very nice going though everything but once he got my money he just took it and ran. that is a real shitty way to do business and extremely *****. I warn everybody....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH OCTAVIO SMITH . I dont know what else to do but i just want to make sure that no one else gets jacked like i did. sorry for the long post but i hope it saves someone some money in the long run. Now my car has to wait even longer to get put together, and im really pissed about the lost money. Anyway enough venting but i hope this helps somebody one day......

its not an official business. its just something he says hes starting. i bought a b18 block from him and some crower rods. he told me it would be $700 shipped. i got the stuff but the driver made me pay for it. now he wont return my calls and he wont return the shipping companies calls.

 

oh but on a brighter note. im in a band that tours all over the country a lot..... guess where im going

Just file a claim with paypal. You were sent something that was not in the agreement. You are covered up to $500.

Did you use a credit card through paypal. If so you can just contact them.

Call your bank tell them the problem. Sometimes they can file a claim or give you the info and number to visa/mc card services.
