Do not go with a V2, way overpriced for what it does. If you do want to go with a name, go with an AEM Short-Ram. $75 shipped. Even a $30 knock-off from eBay will do the same thing and yeild the same gains.

BTW, Search under:

intake
cold air intake
aem
j's racing

Lots of information.

J's racing has the same hp gains as a cold air intake and doesn't suffer from the same poor throttle response you would get from a cold air intake.

I made 7-8 hp on the dyno with a b16b with the V2. I am happy with the Hp gain however the V2 does suffer from a problem where the outer chamber will seperate itself from the inner chamber. It happened to mine after 4 months of use and it was a pain in the *** to get AEM to warranty it. Get the Whale *****

I used to have an eBay shortram, didn't like it very much. So I stepped up to a V2. With the shortram, I had a lot of problems down low, now it doesn't bog as much and there is a power increase that I noticed. Haven't tried the whale ***** though. Maybe that'll be next.

J's is the mad bomb. My RSX came with a V2. I'm gonna buy a ebay pipe and K&N filter to replace it. Sell the V2 to some sucka and make some extra $$$

Its just hollow in between the two pipes. Nothing special but it really does work better than the normal aem cold air, but not by much.

</TD></TR></TABLE> What we found is that the piping was the same diameter from the throttle body all the way to the filter. That big tubing it just wraps around it. No velocity factors to it. Overpriced imo.

Or if you're tight up on money just remove the resonators from your stock intake.

How do you figure? An intake is an intake. The ONLY difference in it, is the actual filter.

I can get a 3" exhaust pipe and Mandrel bend it to fit EASILY. Less than $5. Only thing I need is a K&N Filter to mate it to the pipe. You can shop around and find one for $35-$40 for a cone shaped K&N Filter.

If you can't fabricate one yourself, get a knock-off. A $300 CAI and a $50 CAI will do the same thing. Suck in air. Only difference, again, is the filter used.

There's going to be people that agree with me and disagree with me. But, this is IMO, nothing more.

Why did you cut it in half? it comes in two pieces you can just look inside. Or possibly the one you had was one piece? For the EK it is two pieces. Its not a secret whats inside, AEM even says it is just an outer chamber that wraps around the intake.

Here is where I got my knockoff of the J's Racing intake for 70 bucks shipped:

http://store.dragracing.com/pr...id=99

If you want the real J's it will set you back 250 for the plastic and 300 for the carbon fiber.

Memory Fab makes a knockoff that is actually made of carbon fiber. I believe it goes for 150 here in the H-T sponsor marketplace.
