I'm planning on an integra brake swap all the way around on an EG. I know that this requires a new integra master cylinder/brake booster. I have a chance to buy this combo off a '97 civic [guy says it will fit an integra, too], will it work on a '93 cx with integra calipers? Also, about how many miles do these parts last? Does it matter if the car has ABS or not? Thanks in advance.

 

As far as abs goes it doesn't matter...most most guys with brake upgrades do this kinda swap. None of the 92-95 eg hatchs have abs..not even the si model I'm pretty sure. As far as how long will they last no one really knows that answer. The brake booster is the least likely to go bad...mostly the master cylinder gets replaced when these type things go wrong.

One thing you will need to look into is getting a new proportioning valve. Most people get an oem one from the si model eg. You can order this part from http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ for 125.00. You will need a different proportioning valve for your swap to work to its full potential. You can get aftermarket ones from wilwood or other companies but they are a little more difficult to install and are really used for road race cars. Also the 95 si is a car without abs and other cars with abs like the integra you cannot use those proportioning valves because of the abs that they have. Good luck man..

 

ABS was an option on 94, 95 Si hatches.

well there ya go..i wasn't 100% anyway...but what i said still stands..

 

Since my car is a '93 CX I'm assuming I don't have ABS brakes. Does it matter if the calipers I'm throwing on are ABS or not? This M/C and booster have around 80k miles on them, barring an act of god or just plain bad parts, should they last a while?

 

Well you could go to your auto parts store and get a new one and it could go bad after 10k or whenever.....there really isn't any way to tell when and even if ever it will go bad....i wouldn't worry about it....As far as abs calipers go it doesn't matter..Since you don't have abs you just won't hook up the abs wire that goes to it and therefore won't have abs. They will work just fine. Good luck
