an integra trying to be an ITR
My bro has a co-worker who bought a black 94 integra (dunno if its ls or gs or gsr) and he slapped on a 98 jdm b18c5 engine, added a custom exhaust, put in a Type R tranny, painted the integra Cw, and a few other engine mods.
i've seen the teg and it still has a gsr spoiler, 4 lug hubcaps, and no ITR lip.
He's plaining to get some 5 lug conversions and he's buying a ITR spoiler and lip off ebay.
but once he's done will he be able to match a stock Type R?

if a plain regular integra recieves
: PY,Cw, FB paint job
added Type R front lip
added side skirts
added Type R spoiler
added 5 lug conversion and ITR stock rims
added Type R side and rare decals
and a B18c5 engine
would it still be called an integra ls/gs/gsr, or will it be considered a weaker type R,
because the exterior of an ITR isn't much different than a normal integra.
the only difference is handling (lighter and better suspension), and power.

No....it'll always be a GSR/GS/LS or whatever with ITR parts.

I pose this question to you. If a man got a sex change, would he still be a man? He has all woman parts. Think about it.

His/hers/Its original birth certificate will state the sex as Male...so no matter what he'll always be a male. As far as i know, and maybe this is only in europe, but a male gets a sex change, he can change his name by deed pole, he can get a passport with his/her new name but you cannot alter a birth certificate.....so they'll always be male......just like his car will always be a GS/LS/GSR.

I got a friend that has a GSR and he put a JDM conversion and The full ITR interior thats it and he put on Type R decals on it and he called it a ITR. he says he's getting a ITR motor swap and 5lug conversion. but damn its not a Type R and will never be one. i always get upset when he says my Type R this and that. so i always say my car is better. since i really do have a Type R
wow...didn't know there was such thing as a JDM b18c5...learn something new everyday

If he gets the right suspension setup why wouldn't he be able to match an ITR on the street or road course?
Secondly, who cares. It's an Integra. They are all Integras whether they are an RS, LS, GS, GSR, ITR... If he wants to swap parts to look like an ITR than let him. Why should it matter?! If he tried to pass it off as an actual ITR than that's another story.
But like I said... it's still an Integra. I swear, people act like the ITR is the god of cars!

Also it's lighter as well.</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's the best part of an R, and can't be done after-the-fact.
He will have to change over 150 other things that are not easy. It will be hundreds of pounds heavier, and won't have the handling, or the HP to weight ratio (and drivability) of an R.

He will have to change over 150 other things that are not easy, and I'm not going to list. Then it will still show LS/GS/GSR, peeps will know it's not an R, and it can't be sold as such (fraud is such an ugly word). It will then be a faster, but still slower, flexy flyer, that weighs over 400lbs more than an R.
Just buy an R.</TD></TR></TABLE>
and i bet only handfull of these differences really make a differnce.. once you start to modify, whether gsr or itr, you end up using same parts.
