Frustrating! "short" weekend project turned into LONG!
Talk about problem after problem!
Goal for the weekend:
*Install new Sony headunit and Infinity speakers
*Install Momo steering wheel
*Install Koni yellows/ground controls w/front and rear camber kits
Problems that I ran into:
*torn CV boots on right front axle
*hacked stereo harness
*right rear upper control arm, thread insert broke
Going into the project, thought it would be about 6-7 hours of work, but ended up working about 20 hours on it over the weekend! Here's how it started, with my friend, Gabe (Spade) putting the front of the car on jack stands.

Then we started ripping her apart:

Found the stereo harness was complete cut and hacked to ****! Couldn't find one of the wires and had to take the whole dash loose to find the missing wire, that was way up in the hacked harness. Then took the repair harness and soldered it to the factory harness. I already had soldered a adapter harness to connect the factory harness to the Sony headunit.

Now all the wiring is fixed, except the Viper Alarm system wiring sucks, but we will fix that when I install a new and better alarm system. I ended up not taking very many pics since we just got so busy working, didn't take very many pics. Here's the dash back inplace and stereo system all done. The speakers were a pain to install as well, since we had to fix the wiring and solder in new connections. In all the stereo took about 8 hours to install.

I don't have any pics of the suspension install, since it was dark at that point. When we took the front suspension apart we found that the right axle was toast, so we had to find a parts store that was open and had a new one. Installed the new Koni's and Ground Controls in. Then called it a night and did the rear suspension in the morning. BTW....we also stopped since our friendly neighborhood SKUNK paid a visit! Check him out! Bad pic, but the flash pissed him off!

Here's a pic of the assembled rear suspenion!

Couldn't install the right rear camber kit, since the bolt wont come out of the upper control arm, and the thread insert boke the welds trying to get the bold out. Need to get that fixed this week. Installed the new suspension and here's the final result of the look of the car!

My teg with Spade's new 96 cobra

Thanks Spade for all your hard work, and dealing with all the problems we had over the weekend! Just need to get that control arm problem fixed now, that no one seems to have heard of before!

are you going to change over the interior from coffee to black......noticed your door panel is already black?

Glad to hear you got it all done. It sounds like nearly EVERY mod I've done to my car...something went wrong and X hours turned into XXXX hours. Dope looking stereo btw.
Thanks guys! Wish I had more pics of the suspension going in, but exhaustion took over!
Yeah, the interior will eventually be completely black up front with the rear interior stripped out.
Deffinately nice to get things fixed right!
Just need to get the rear control arm fixed and the suspension will be done!
Coming soon....just order 14" Azenis for the steelies!

Yup, the interior will go black, however performance comes before looks as of right now.

HAHA We didn't rig the raffle! Hell there were 45-46 prizes!!! Besides we both just got T-shirts, (happy for that) it's not like it was a full $2000 suspension for the cars.

Yeah, turned out nice! The interior is so much nicer now, and the ride feels nice, but I wont be able to really test it until the rear control arm is fixed.
The exterior has a lot of flaws, but I'm more about performance than looks. I like a clean ride, but cleaning up the exterior will come later.

Hell yeah, I'm proud of the fact that I look like a goober.
