Default Removing entire Dashboard [94LS]

Anyone have a write up or some kind of directions for the easiest way to totally remove a dash from a 94 LS?

i did it yesterday. its pretty easy. just look for all the screws and bolts and slot things. just pull on it a little bit and see where its hung up and then unscew/unbolt/unlatch it.

theres a 10mm bolt on the side of the dash thats covered up by a panel, so look for that.

So far I've take out the 2 10mm bolts on each side [behind the little panels] and theres some stuff behind the cluster, what else should I look for?

Im pretty sure that there are some inside the center vent cavity and underneath the panels by your knees and definitley some behind the glovebox... Its been a while since i did it, but it wasnt fun.

And you have to disconnect the pass airbag too, and it sucks pullin the dash out/puttin it in if you dont remove the steering column because of the stupid turn signal/wiper levers.

Sorry for the rambling, but when i did it 2 years ago on my 95RS it kinda sucked.

hth.

Sounds like I've got a fun time ahead of me.

Anyone know how i would go about "dropping" the steering column?

Get a helms!!!! This is the perfect excuse....there's TONS of little crap you have to do to get the dash out. If you cant afford one right now, go to your local dealer and ask em to photocopy the pages that are about pulling the dash.

Remember the plugs and where they go, it gets way confusing later on.

Mark/Label them if needed.

Here's mine completely loose. I'd recommend taking the steering wheel off and the turn signals! I didn't take it out of the car since we were only fixing the harness under the dash, but the alarm wires prevented taking out the dash since we would have had to cut the alarm wires.

Not as bad as I thought and we were able to put it back in within 15 min, taking it loose is a different story! LOL

There is one bolt behind the clock! Our Haynes manual didn't show it, but I found it. on me for leaving the HELMS at work.

Its actually not bad at all! Just check the wiring under the dash before you start. If there is some custom wiring job to install stereo/alarm/whatever....the dash may not come out without cutting wires. That's why I couldn't get mine out of the car, the alarm wires needed to be cut to get it out.

I'll definitely check for that, and I guess I'll just have to cut them cause that dash is out of there.
