Default Removing lower part of dash

Could someone tell me how to remove this part (I outlined in red) of the dash? I'm sure it's probably simple, but I don't wanna break anything.

Pic taken from another post

Ah, could I get a small set of instructions, or at least a point out of where screws would be?

i didnt remove my whole dash to remove or install mine. i took out the guage cluster, lower dash panel, a/c controls, radio and the ashtray panel thing. you should be able to reach behind and find the screws, about 8 i think. i used a regular phillips head, short phillips, an odd combination of socket extentions with a magnetic bit and a few other things to get to the screws. wish i could explain better but i wasnt thinking about a how-to when i was doing it.
obviously for the guages, but i also moved the rear defroster switch to the cruise control switch location on the left side of the wheel (cruise switch is now behind the dash...cause its always on) and filled in the hole where the def. was.

the other pod i made

Thanks. I think I should be able to get it off from what you've told me...I'm hesitant now because I don't think I got any magnetic bits and I know those screws are probably gonna be a bitch to get to. Oh well, guess I'll wing it when I get some free time. Thanks again. Nice pics btw.

thanks, and yeah, some were simple, some were not. once you get the stuff out (guages, a/c, radio, etc.) run your hands along the backside of the dash to find the screws, i think there were 8, maybe 10. mirror and flashlight help sometimes....
good luck

edit: and remember to get creative with the tools, phillips bits will fit in sockets, sockets can use extensions, flexible extensions, etc. just try odd stuff
