Default Aerial Photography at the Expo!

Great News! I scheduled another fly-over Beaver Run on Saturday for a photo shoot. I'm going up with the same pilot from last year. The question I have for everyone is, what time should we have the fly-over? And do we want to go to the effort of arranging the cars on the track?

Track time will be extremely precious this year so I have no inclination of interrupting a minute. However, if everyone would like to make time for a group picture Ill need to know within a couple days to collaborate with the pilot

I was thinking maybe even scheduling a group shot for Friday instead, before the banquet (it would not need to be a the track)? Almost everyone should be present Friday and this would avoid any conflict with race day. I am open to your ideas.

I'll be using a Canon 10D SLR digital camera so the picture quality and resolution will be phenomenal. Equipped with the telephoto lenses, I could practically get the VIN numbers off any Type R at the low altitude we flew last year.

This capability gives us lots of potential for interesting and cinematic shots. If you have any ideas please let me know.

-Josh

Woohoo! Will you be dropping flyers for the crazy horse out of the plane?

Haha, I don't think so. But maybe if I slip the pilot that "free pass" he will give me extra flight time!

Maybe there is a scheduled lunch hour when the corner workers are on break, so we wouldn't need to take away from track time to take the photo.

Or, do it at the end of the day, after the track goes cold.

Both sound like good ideas - we need a way to all agree on a time...

Just too bad it won't be as impressive as last year

Anton - who even had fun lining up, met Pete right behind me, Jen 2 cars behind him and Tina a few cars in front of us!

I say have the fly over when we are done with the track time on Saturday, Last year it took a long time to get all the caRs ready for the pics.

Lets not kill any track time that we have.

You might want to just drop Trey a line directly, since it'll all come down to what he says, anyway.

Should we be doing a group shot this year since, 1 it takes awhile to set up and 2 it will not be able to touch last year? So I dunno.

Hell if you could zoom in a bit, I think it would be awesome to get action shots from up above. Thats an angle we dont ever get to see....

See that CW in the front section? Yeah, I'm in there. If I'm remembering right, it was not long after D bounced my melon off the roll bar padding with an unannounced brake check

Chris - who didn't see Trey post about this yet.

This idea seems best. What time is the last run and when do we need to leave the track?
