Default del sol shifter in eg

so I was looking on here awhile ago and heard that the del sol shifter can work in the civic. I compared my del sol shifter today to a stock civic shifter I had laying around and definately noticed it was a lot shorter. well since I had the del sol shifter laying around from the car I parted out, I thought I might try to put it in. Thats when I noticed the angle of the bottom of the shifter is different than the civic shifter. I did not want to pull the linkage just yet because I wanted to see if anyone on here as any insight on this working or not in the car. Will the del sol shifter really sit that different in the car compared to the stock shifter? It seems the del sol shifter is angled more towards the driver. here are 2 pics of what I am talking about. I did a search and didnt come up with any answers that will help me.

does anyone have a pic of the shifter in thier car? can I just use the entire piece of linkage that the shifter is in that goes to the tranny? it seems that it is stuck in there. excuse the corona case, it was the only surface I had to work with when I went to take the pics.

If you're just wanting to use the stock del Sol shifter itself (and not the entire del Sol shift linkage) then I'm pretty sure it'll go right in.

I rather just switch that part of the linkage out. what I am worried about is it being angled funny in the car since the bottom mount is angled differently compared to the stock civic shifter.

Oh, and yes the del Sol shifter is angled more towards the driver. When installing it, make sure it's kinda angled toward you when it's in neutral position.

so can I just replace the whole piece of linkage that goes up to the tranny? I will be leaving the piece that connects to the tranny with the shift pin. I was just wondering how it would sit in the car once everything is bolted back together. The difference in height is quite a bit. Free mods kick ***.

i was just wondering if the guys who are currently running w/ a del sol shifter noticed a difference in shifting and what they were...? like were the throws shorter (kinda like ona a gsr) or the same thing .. basically.... is it worth the upgrade on an eg...

thx
