Alternate to autolock (Pedal Jack)

Anybody use it? Know anything more about it? I'm considering it. Looks really low so whatever they use to break the autolock may not fit this.

It works yeah of course.. but if they made that for locking they made something too of course to break it in case of emergency... and thieves might have those too..
llike this one they made this steering wheel lock and of course they made something to break it too... check the link..

i have it. it's made by Unelko if memory serves me right. it's a bit awkward getting it to lock over Both clutch and brake pedals. all i can say is it's better than nothing... i feel less paranoid because of it too.

looks pretty decent. I was about to get the autolock but i may consider this.
I know with the autolock sometimes they just bent and twist the pedal to the side to get it out. But seems like it would be pretty damn hard to twist 2 pedals maybe.

here is the product quote from the site:

Steering wheels can be easily cut or shift lever ***** unscrewed in seconds and allow the vehicle to be stolen. PEDAL JACK is different...it both locks and blocks the brake pedal which unlike steering wheels or shift levers cannot be cut because vehicle standards require them to be unbreakable. PEDAL JACK immobilizes the brake pedal making it impossible to drive the vehicle. PEDAL JACK is made of heavy duty electrically heat-treated tempered steel that is saw-proof and cannot be fractured by freon gas. Furthermore PEDAL JACK has a patented high-security lock that is protected by a tempered steel plate to make it drill-proof. Each lock has 3 keys that cannot be duplicated or replaced.

sounds like hyperbole to me
you cannot break or bypass a shift lever lock by unscrewing the shift ****. The product they must be referring to is the Mul-T-Lock transmission lock, and it's an excellent product that uses a U lock mechanism with the World famous Mul-T-Lock cylinder, and a steel beam that is bolted (with break-off bolts) down to the chassis of the vehicle....it can also be welded. Locking the car into reverse if it's a manual or park if it's an automatic. Be careful of the installer cause if it is installed too tall then it can give a thief leverage or the thinner part of the shifter can be cut. But if installed right it will make you shift boot sag cause it will lock the lower portion of your shifter. It retails for anywhere from $275 to $350 installed. This $50 Pedal lock cannot compare.
But for $50, I guess it's better than a club or autolock. Except I don't think I like the idea of a heavy device depressing my clutch or brake pedal for hours on end.
This is just a theory, but I have a feeling my friends autolock, that rested unevenly on his 94 teg due to the dead pedal), had it's weight on the clutch pedal keeping it slightly depressed for hours on end parked overnight..............in a couple of weeks his clutch slave cylinder went bad and leaked all over the place. Could have been coincidental or it was related.
(sorry for the long post...........I can be kinda wordy)

My AutoLock doesn't make my clutch pedal sag or put weight on it, and I've been using it since October.
If installed correctly it should be slightly pressing UP on the clutch pedal, not depressing it, and it should not rest down on the pedal itself.

Do you have a 3rd gen two door teg? If so, does it have the dead pedal? Without the dead pedal, it sits just fine, but with the dead pedal, it's sits uneven due to one of the legs hitting the dead pedal when attaching it to the clutch. That's why it would lean on the clutch pedal leg a litle bit, slightly depressing it.
On the DA this is not a problem, or any DC teg without the dead pedal.
But someone stole my crx, and it had an autolock on it. I had procrastinated on installing the Mul-T-Lock, thinking the Autolock would suffice........it didn't. I don't know how exactly they got it off, but they did

sorry to hear about your loss, and thanks for the good advice.

no problem, and thanks. The rex was stolen over a year ago now, and I have a DC project that's going well
oh, one more point, it's about layers of theft prevention. you don't want to have just one or two........more like three or four.........whatever will cause the wouldbe theif more hassle or time consumption...........thieves like to work quickly from what I've seen, so they would most likely move onto the car without the different anti-theft devices.
