Is there any difference between Type R and GSR oil pumps?? SEARCHED
I searched oil pump and I still wasnt convinced if they are the same or not. Alot of people say "upgrade to a type r oil pump" but a few others are saying the newer ones (98+) are the same p72 pump. Is the gear set different? Is there any benefit to replacing my GSR oil pump with a Type R one...
thanks in advance.

The GSR and R oil pumps are the same price and have the same product number on http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org
i work for an acura dealer... and i checked, they are all the same part number, even the ls one... (i am using the ls one)
some people will argue to the death that they are different though

At one time they had different part numbers for the ITR vs others, now they all have the same number.
