Default question about these fastbrake kits

This http://www53.ssldomain.com/fas...g1175 kit comes with 4 piston calipers and 11.75" rotors and fits 92-95 civics for $1400

This http://www53.ssldomain.com/fas...F11-4 kit comes with what appears to be the same identical thing except it has 11" rotors. and is $500 less

so are you paying $500 more for .75 more inches? or are they leaving out substantial info? thier site has a basic generic desciription for all thier stuff so I wouldnt be surprised.

The more expensive kit comes with Willwood calipers and the less expensive kit just says "Forged Aluminum Calipers". It doesn't say who makes the calipers for the cheaper kit, and the pic doesn't really help much??

The 11.75" kit probably has 2 piece rotors, which save many pounds of unsprung weight, but can get a little pricey. The 11" kit looks like it has one piece cast rotors, so they will be heavier than the 11.75" rotors.

The 11" kit has forged Dynalite calipers - good stuff. Pics aren't showing up for the 11.75" kit, but all 4 pot Wilwood calipers are excellent IMO.

Dave Turner Motorsports has created a special Wilwood kit for about $1K, multi-piece rotor, made specifically for Honda race application. We use it in our WCHC H1 Civic EK, and I gotta say, the brakes are great! (I was a bit skeptical at first) I gotta a pic I might be able to post...

Oh, and the pads are cheeeeeep, and work awesome. (about $50. A nice savings over the $100-150 pads I used to buy)

Nice....

Looks pretty light weight too!

all of that for under a G?

How big are the rotors and what size rims do you have to run to clear the calipers?

Well, I guess I should chime in.....

If you would like more info on the kit please give me a call at the store, the number is in my sig, shoot me an email, or pm. Don't forget to mention Team SGR or Honda Tech, that way I can give you the discount.

There are basically 3 kits available:

1: street kit, plain rotor
2. street kit, drilled and slotted rotor
3. Dave Turner race kit

For pictures of the street kits go to http://www.wilwood.com. The race kit is the one pictured; Thank You Dennis!!!! The only other thing you need to make it a complete bolt on is lines. Which I have.

If there is enough interest, I will consider a group buy.

So they make the Dave Turner race kit for the RSX?

and that is 5x114.3 ?

and what kind of lines do you have to use?

You can't beat this for $650

I would assume all the pieces would be the same for the RSX kit

Yes, I can make a RSX kit to our race spec.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jon V &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and that is 5x114.3 ?</TD></TR></TABLE>

It will be same bolt pattern as RSX, which I believe is 5x114.3.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jon V &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and what kind of lines do you have to use?</TD></TR></TABLE>

For brake lines you need to go from a female metric(stock hardline) to a male 1/8 npt(inlet of wilwood caliper).

The majority of parts are the same, biggest difference would be the hats and brackets, to acccomodate for the 5 lug and different hub.

I'm guessing not since it says 16" required there in bold in D.CACO's post:
