Default EK armrest in crx.

Hey all, I just recently picked up an EK armrest and installed it into the rex. It came the stock grey color, so I sprayed it black and recovered the armrest part in black leather. Any questions or comments are appreciated.

Thanks, Tyson.

Ill try to get a few more pics later today.

I had to cut a few inches off the console side because its too long. So I cut and rounded it to match the stock console the best I could. The sides dont line up perfect at the front, but the seat hides that so you dont see it at all.

But yes, other than that, it fits awesome. It screws into the factory holes at the front too. I just used some rubber stuff (same stuff you put in toolboxes to stop tools from sliding around) into the cubby holder to hide the screws.

This is what it looks like in stock form, from the EK.

Actually, that IS the one I bought. Thanks Dre.

Once you install one, you'll wonder why you never did this before. lol

It gave me some extra storage, since I have no storage slot under my deck. Deck now resides there.

Nope, I made my own center console. Well, most of it.

Just trimmed the new console to line up with the existing one.

To start, I put the new one in in its stock form, just to see how it would line up. The I drew a rough line about the same shape as the crx console and trimmed the EK one.

Next, I test fit it again, then trimmed as necessary till it fits almost as good as factory.

Took about 4 hours or so, including waiting for paint to dry between coats. Total time to get it in there w/o painting or wrapping the armrest, about 45 mins.

Wow very nice. It sits against the center console really snug. Any guestimate on how much you ended up actually cutting? What'd you use?

I just used an air grinder. I cut maybe an inch or a bit more, not too much. Just enough to get it to line up with the existing console.

THanks for all the comments guys.

That looks very very good!

Do you have any pictures where it meets the dashboard? Like an overall shot?

What do you mean? In the pics it shows where it matches up with the stock shifter console in the crx.
