Default JDM Conversion Questions

Here's a question about wiring the lights to the JDM headlights...

did you have to get a new connector and splice the usdm wires into it???

cuz looking at the usdm connectors.. i didn't see anything that would hook up to this connector...

I didn't use a new plug on my headlights, I just used two connectors and wired it into the stock wiring. I suggest covering the connectors w/ electrical tape to help prevent corrosion. Hope this helps.

I had to splice the line from my stock connector and attach it with a female adapter. The female adapter should fit into your stock JDM housing connectors. You can buy the female adaptor at any auto store(autozone, pepboy,....etc) Hope that'll help

those jdm headlights should of came with the harness, which would have totally made it easier on your wiring install.

yep thats wut i did. The female adapters fitted tightly into the JDM connectors, which was good, which meant no worries about taping it so it will stay. AFter u figure out all the plugs for each lighting, I suggest taping the connectors with water proof tape so you won't get shortage cause of rain or so. Better to be safe then sorry. good luck

Now I just need someone to answer my damn spark plug question!!!!!!!

another question that popped up...

since the usdm hood latch is turned toward the engine.. and the jdm hood latch will be turned outwards... how did you install this?

how does the hood latch work when it's turned the other way? how can you open the hood?

and info about where to run the stock hood latch cable would be helpful as well.....

just check which wires from car connects with wires from lamps. then buy connectors in store and "do-it-yourself". I did like that.

you can buy the connectors from password jdm or IPS (where i got mine).....ips will also send you the wireing diagram...if you do choose to hardwire the plug be sure to fill it with silicone to prevent corrosion
