I have a 03 civic si and its decent.....Really wanna be running faster....wheel hops like a bitch and starting out sucks....i wanna try a rsx head swap on it and see what happens....or anything else thats moderate in cash and will help me alot....already got full greddy catback, dc headers, cold air intake, v-afc II controller(could use some suggestions on settings with that too if you could). Im open for suggestions cause i would really like to show up some of my friends cause they all call it a slow egg. Thanks for helpin me out

from what I've heard is that not only will u hear the vtech but u will get anywhere in the 9k area. My belief iz more conservative like between 8k 2 8.5k, but till I see this 9k area I can't believe it.

Get your AFC dyno tuned. With out dyno tuning, it is worthless... and there is a good chance that it is actually harming your performance as is... Better yet, sell it and get Hondata.

A head swap is not going to solve your wheel hop problems... a set of $35 Energy Suspension motor mount inserts will though.

I completely agree.I have the ES inserts in my DC5-S and they are a great upgrade.

Alright....i was already thinking of getting the inserts, but i really need to get that v-afc II tuned and see what that helps with cause the guy that put it on for me didnt really know too much about the newer model he just knew how to go through all the pretty little screens and channels....little bitch.....but i really need to learn how to tune it and would really like it if someone could help me with that. im having second thoughts about the head swap cause it could be too much of a hassel and the new tranny would be a bitch. So if anyone knows what some new cams and cam gears and **** like that would do....please give me some suggestions on what to do. thanks

Step 1: Get a dyno, or be prepared to spend lots of time (money) on one.

I would contact kevin daniels about tuning, you can email him at PPPpartsp3@cs.com. If i were you, i would probably sell the vafc II and get the hondata ecu reflash. Here is the website w/info on the hondata http://www.hondata.com/k20a3release.html

No Civic (non type-r) has ever been fast, or looked good stock. I dunno what would make you think the EP3 would be any different.

Instead of commiting insurance fraud, why not just sell your car like normal people? Sounds like you should have done a little research BEFORE buying the car... And if you really think it is SOOOOOOOOO ugly, why did you buy it in the first place?

Personally, I couldn't be happier with my EP3 money pit.

I agree. I have had two efs and worked on may egs, eks, and evn the famous B series Si found in the 99-00 coupe isn't super fast stock. The thing that makes all Civics great, including the EP, is the potentioal to do great things with an economy type vehicle. There are a myriad of other platforms to play with, but for some reason the Civic has stood above the rest. Reliablity + potential = enthusiast. Don't give up on the EP, dude. Make everybody eat their words. I got my '04 for $17,000, and if I did the K20A2 head swap, I would give RSX-S's runs for their money, for less that they bought their car from. I am fond of the look of the EP, and will have huge grins on my face whilst I spank many DC-5s and older civics. If everyone id what you want to do, there would have never been a 7 second front wheel drive import.

seriously. most of us know that honda's are not that fast to start off with. if you're 16 and this is your first time mashing with an ep3 or dc5, then it is pretty fast. and if you wanna go fast, you need to invest a crapload of time and money into your car.

just stick with it and learn to love your car at least.

yeah ep3s might be slower and not "cool" enough looking for some, but how many do you see on the road compared to dc5s? Yesterday I saw one ep3, but prior to that it had been like a week. I probably saw at least 12 dc5s yesterday and thats the reason that I like my ep. besides, it sounds like you want to race your friends on the street and that will just get you into trouble. Why not go to the track and practice. Remember that a bad driver in an evo or sti or anything can lose to someone that can really drive in a lesser car.

LMAO!!! man. lol. just throw on an untuned turbo kit and see if its still a slow piece of crap. thats not 7 grand either. if you dont wanna spend a lot of money on makin your car fast, then youre in the wrong hobby buddy.

YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY.
