Although it's normal, but kind of annoying to add oil every week.

How much oil do you cars burn? Anyway that might help to reduce it?

I burned from the top dipstick hole to the bottom hole in just one track day.
The nicer you drive it, the less oil it burns

 

1 qt/3K miles is normal for me, but sometimes as much as 1.5qts. Usually don't burn any until about 2K miles after the oil change, then I can't seem to keep oil in the car

To reduce oil consumption....

1. Switch from synthetic to conventional motor oil. It's not a slippery and won't burn as easily (under normal use).

or

2. Go to a higher weight oil (40/50 as opposed to 30). I believe Castrol has a 5W-50 synthetic. You won't make as much hp, but your engine will be better protected.

every 4 nights of redlines, one liter of castrol TXT but it depends on how hard you drive your car and the kind of oil you use. the better the oil, the more it burns.

 

Track driven ... pretty much add oil when you add gas policy.

If i keep it under 8K, about .5 quarts per track weekend.

If to redline, 2 quarts per weekend.

 

my car burns like 2 quarts in between oil changes..but its because my valve guides and seals need to be replaced...

 

Your valve seals may be gone or going........Piston rings may also be fried...Do a compression test, then leakdown test to pinpoint the exact cause.

Oh yea, and if you are driving in VTEC all day, then expect to shell out for lots of quarts of oil.

1.5 quarts between changes. i'm running synthetic and an aem. i've been told i either have blow-by past the rings, or the breather hose from my valve cover to the aem is sucking everything out of the head, judging from the oily mess i have in my manifold and tb

a&j racing is going to jury-rig a catch can to see if it's the latter

 

Burned only about a quarter quart between oil changes but only hit VTEC once or twice a week. Last change burned about 3/4 quart with an average of VTEC once a day. Mobil-1 Synthetic 5W-30.

 

After 5K miles....(Vtec at least 3 times a day) less than 1 qt. of mobil-1.
