Sorry to see that man that really sucks.
About the whole mis shift thing, I don't really see how you could put it into a different gear also; unless you were learning to drive?
I don't mean this in an offensive way. I almost put it into 2nd one time when first learning to drive but before I even clutched out I caught myself.

I did it once when I was first learning to drive standard, it was fucked up. I was in 3rd @ 8,000 (just getting used to my new motor and 5 speed tranny) and I was talking to my friend and for some reason just pulled it into 2nd. It made crazy *** noise and I pushed the clutch back in and pulled over cause I felt like a tool and the noise scared the **** out of me.
So, it cost me a set of LMAs, but I'll never do it again.
