how much hp do cam gears put out?
I wanted to know from you guys how much hp do cam gears put out in the 5th gen ludes? I am contemplating if i should buy these str cam gears at the moment. I wanted to ask you guys from experience, is it worth buying and tuning it?
I currently have: apexi ws, high flow cat, dc header(I know its a POS, but im going to get a custom made header), aem pullies, and the fuel regulator.
thanks guys.

I got 12 whp on my 4th generation, but part of that was from advancing the timing to 17 degrees. I don't think you can do that with the 5th generation distributor.
I always thought that cam gears alone won't do much at all, but when you have aftermarket cams, the gears allow you to adjust those cams for maximum performance ... So, I supposed you'd get no gains with gears alone. Someone corret me if I'm mistaken.
You can get gains with stock cams, but you'll only know how much power you get on the dyno. You can gain a lot of midrange from adj cam gears.

With his setup, he could probably benefit from them a little bit
with good dyno tuning.
i believe preluderacer023 made significant gains on his motor
which is mostly stock

Putting cam gears on an engine will not give you any hp. Tuning them properly will. But is all depends on what else you have on the car. It will be a different result for someone who has i/h/e as opposed to someone who has i/h/e + f.p.r., etc., etc. It's the same logic behind a V-AFC or S-AFC. These items don't add any hp, but are tuning tools that allow you to locate power that you haven't tuned into before.
If you aren' buying cams don't waste your time. You won't see good enough gains to justify the cost of them and the tuning. You realize you have to tune the adjustments to see any gain whatsoever. You can't just slap them on and expect it to do anything.
